Sony has announced that a Game of the Year edition of The Last of Us will launch on November 11th.
Exclusively for the PlayStation 3, the GOTY edition will feature the original game along with all previously released DLC content including the ‘Abandoned Territories’ and ‘Reclaimed Territories’ combined eight multiplayer maps as well as the ‘Grounded Mode’, a much harder single-player difficulty mode.
The first and only story DLC pack, ‘Left Behind’, will also be included.
“With over 250 Game of the Year awards, and countless other industry accolades under its belt including five BAFTAs, there really are few games that deserve the title as much as The Last of Us,” wrote Alex Moyet, SCEE Product Manager, on the PlayStation Blog.
Originally launched in May 2013, The Last of Us earned worldwide critical acclaim and has gone on to sell over 6 million copies.
Talk of a sequel has been floating around since earlier this year, with writer Neil Druckmann revealing talks about a sequel have already begun and would have a 50/50 chance of happening.
A film adaptation also written by Druckmann is currently development.
A Remastered edition for PlayStation 4 also launched back in July.
