Fans who purchase Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for last-gen consoles will get the opportunity to upgrade to next-gen for free.

Fans who purchase a digital copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare by March next year can download the game for next-gen consoles for free, Activision announced today.

The full game free upgrade will be available to anybody who purchases an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 edition. Up until March 31st they will then have the chance to download the game for Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

All multiplayer stats will transfer over as well as any purchased DLC content, including Season Passes, as along as players’ Gamertag and PSN ID remain the same.

Revealed back in May, Advanced Warfare will be released on November 4th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Set in the year 2054, the player must restore order in a state of advanced warfare against a private military corporation, head by antagonist Jonathan Irons.

Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey will portray Irons.
