The cast for The Evil Within will has been revealed.
Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley, of films such as Lincoln, Watchmen, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, will be portraying the game’s antagonist, Ruvik, whilst Safe and Hell on Wheels star Anson Mount will star as the protagonist, Sebastian.
Quarantine and Dexter star Jennifer Carpenter will also star as Juli Kidman, Sebastian’s junior detective partner.
“One of the most crucial elements to any successful survival horror game is the setting and sound, which includes the depth and authenticity of the voice acting,” said Shinji Mikami, the game’s director, which also marks his return to the horror genre since he created the Resident Evil series.
“We brought together a great cast of experienced actors to help ensure that players really believe our characters’ emotion and the tension they feel in every scene.”
The Evil Within follows Detective Sebastian after he witnesses the deaths of several police officers and then is attacked himself by an unknown entity and loses consciousness. He eventually wakes up in a land where monsters are wandering about and Sebastian must fight his way through a world of death to understand what’s going on and what lies in the shadows of that mysterious force.
It was previously estimated that it would take between 15-20 hours to complete the game depending on difficulty and play style.
Bethesda Softworks recently unveiled details about the title’s season pass, which will see players gain access to 3 DLC packs, one mission-based and two story-based.
Developed by Tango Gameworks, Evil Within will be available on October 14th in America and October 17th for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
