Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate now available on consoles

Available today for Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PS3, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate features a slew of new content.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is now available on consoles as of today, Warner Bros. and DC announced today.

Previously only available for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, Blackgate will, as of today, be available for the PlayStation3 via the PlayStation Network, the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Marketplace, the Wii via the Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam.

Blackgate was a companion game for October’s Batman: Arkham Origins title and will feature enhanced HD 2.5D graphics and 5.1 surround sound, an all-new map system, new enemy encounters, difficulty levels and bat suits.

Set three months after Batman: Arkham Origins, Batman is summoned to restore peace and order within the walls of Blackgate Prison. Players will explore the depths of the island penitentiary as Batman investigates and realises that there is more to the henchman uprising than initially meets the eye.

A new Batman: Arkham title is currently in development at Rocksteady Studios, intending to release later this year.

6 new screenshots were released last week and the first details have already been released.
