Second annual Call of Duty Championship Tournament announced

The second annual Call of Duty Championship Tournament has been announced with 32 teams battling for a $1 million prize.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]hirty two teams will battle it out for a $1 million prize at the second annual Xbox Call of Duty Championship Tournament.

Hosted by Activision Blizzard, Infinity Ward and Xbox, in partnership with Major League Gaming, the tournament will take place from March 28th to the 30th in Los Angeles with 32 teams from six continents, including North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

The qualifying round will be held through online tournaments played on the Xbox 360 whilst the live regional finals will be played on the Xbox One and broadcasted online via & Xbox Live and is open to all qualified players, whether professional gamers or not, provided they meet the requirements of the official rules and regulations.

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, said in a press release: “Last year’s championship came down to the final minute of the final match with everyone holding their breath to see who would win. The skill, passion and energy brought by these teams and the crowd looking-on showed just what makes our community the best in the world.”
