[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Paranormal Activity series will return next year with two new films according to a source at Collider. The first of the two, which is a Latino spin-off from the main series called Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, will be released on January 3rd in the US. The second film, which is Paranormal Activity 5, will be released closer to Halloween (like all the previous films) on October 24th.
The Marked Ones will have a Latino cast and it will also feature both Spanish and English dialogue with a plot involving the Catholic Church. Christopher Landon, the director of the last three films will also direct this new off-shoot.
The spin-off could be interesting as it will offer something new to fans of the series. It will also be interesting to see what happens in PA5; the main series is getting rather stale, so the writers will have to work hard to keep viewers interested in the continuing narrative.
The series was conspicuously absent this year, as fans expected a new Paranormal Activity film to be released in October as usual. It is unclear why the studio decided to push back the releases to next year.
UK release dates for the films have not yet been revealed but viewers can probably expect PA5 to come out around Halloween like the previous films did.
