Trailer: Spectre (2015) – Teaser

October 23 a long way off? You're telling us!

They arrive with roughly the same regularity as the Olympic Games and the World Cup, but it’s Bond year again! To satisfy your withdrawal symptoms, here’s a sneak preview of the MI6 darling’s 24th outing – but you want more, right? Well, you’ve got the questions, we’ve got the answers, so here goes…

First thing’s first, what’s the title all about?

No, James Bond isn’t going all supernatural on us. Spectre, as many a 007 anorak would be only too pleased to tell you, is an acronym of Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, the criminal organisation led by Blofeld that featured in the Ian Fleming novels and the subsequent movies. Needless to say, Bond will be hot on their heels, but this time around he may well get more than he bargained for.

Obviously Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes are reunited once again, but is there anyone else coming back for more?

The secret service continues to be kept in safe hands. Ralph Feinnes returns as M, along with MI6 regulars Ben Wilson as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Rory Kinnear as Chief of Staff Bill Tanner. John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are on hand for the script, and let’s not forget the Aston Martin.

And the new faces?

There’s been much talk about Christopher Waltz who will be playing the lead baddie – with two Oscars to his name, everyone’s expecting great things. The latest Bond girls come with a distinctly continental flavour in Monica Belucci and Lea Seydoux, while Whitehall gains a new addition with Andrew Scott as Denbigh.

And last, but by no means least, tell me about the theme tune.

What do you think this is, MI6? Seriously, cast and crew aside, this is currently the world’s best-kept secret. If it’s any consolation, we’re getting as impatient as you are.
