The amazing Alien film we'll never get to see

...because movie execs hate us all (and they probably murder kittens as well). District 9 director Neill Blomkamp has been instagramming some sweet concept images from an Alien film that'll most likely never get made

Neill Blomkamp (director of District 9 and Elysium) has flooded his Instagram account with a bunch of concept images that appear to be ideas for a sequel to Ridley Scott’s Alien, and the internets have gone ape.

They look so much better than anything the franchise produced after the eighties that it’s almost causing us physical pain. We’ve collated (see what we did there) the whole shebang for you to take a look at.

What we’ve got here looks like a screeching Alien Queen – brilliant. Unfortunately it’s the comment under this pic (‘Was working on this. Don’t think I am anymore’) that’s leading everybody to believe this possible movie will never get off the ground.

The crashed ship of the ‘Space Jockey’ people, now apparently inside a warehouse – is this the dastardly work of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation?

‘A mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created’. We’ll just repeat that: a mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created. Somebody pass the popcorn, we’re going to eat ourselves into a cinematic coma until we somehow reach a plane of existence where this movie got made.

Is that- it is! Hicks, our favourite dead character who never should have got deaded. Somebody get Michael Biehn on the phone.

Another peek inside Weyland Corp. Can they cook, or can’t they?

Yep. That’s Ripley wearing a Space Jockey helmet. That’s what that is, alright. *Heavy breathing*

Not quite sure….but we’re sure it would have been awesome.

Our desks are suddenly looking a bit bare.

Hicks again #BringBackHicks

And a quick redesign for the Alien eggs/face huggers to finish off (Also ‘maybe I’ll go back to it?’ Please quit teasing us, Blomkamp).

Well, well. Sorry, David Fincher, we like you a lot (we really do), but we don’t think even you would mind if we just pretended that Alien3 was all a crazy dream Ripley had while she was in hypersleep, before waking up in Blomkamp’s vision for the Alien-verse.

Did somebody say crowd-funding? #ShutUpAndTakeMyMoney
