Hello everybody, what’s up? You’re listening to I Was Just Wondering With Tom Salmon! The podcast that dives into music, film and games and everything else in between.
My guests on this week’s episode are director Anthony Nti and writer Chingiz Karibekov, the creative team behind the award winning short film DA YIE (2019), which tells the story of Matilda and Prince’s life-changing road trip from Ghana’s vibrant coast to its inner city streets plagued by crime and gangsters.
We jumped into Anthony and Chingiz experience of how they first met studying film at the Royal Institute of Theatre, Cinema and Sound in Brussels, how Boaz Yakin’s film Fresh (1994) influenced their shared creative vision and what’s it like being European based filmmakers shooting a short film in Ghana.
