February’s Biggest Game Releases

Take a look at some of the game’s we’re excited to play in February.

Child of Light/Valiant Heart Double Pack

Release: 1^st February

Platform: Switch

Previously only available on Switch as downloads, Child of Light and Valiant Heart are both getting physical releases in a handy double pack.

Envisioned as a “Playable Poem” by its creators, Child of Light tells the reimagined story of our childhood fairy tales. Set in the magical world of Lemuria, Child of Light follows Aurora on her journey to save a lost kingdom after her father falls ill.

Valiant Hearts is inspired by letters written during World War I and tells the story of four characters whose destinies become crossed and find themselves working together to fight for survival, love, and friendship.

Child of Light and Valiant Heart will be released on 1^st February exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

Release: 5^th February

Platform: Switch

The 2015 sequel to The Book of Unwritten Tales is making its way to switch. In a comedic point-and-click adventure, join the game’s unlikely heroes Wilbur, Ivo, Nate, and Critter as they reunite to take on the magical force that is turning the beasts of Aventasia into puppies and castles into dollhouses.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 will be released on Nintendo Switch on 5^th February.

God Eater 3

Release: 8^th February

Platform: PlayStation 4

Return to the universe of God Eater with the third installment of the hack and slash monster slaying series. Wielding a God Arc join the Fenrir Organisation, an elite monster slaying force, and take on hordes of monsters known as the Aragami. Featuring new maps, monsters, and weapons, God Eater 3 is the first in the series to imagined and conceived for the newest generation of home consoles and can be played cooperatively with up to eight players.

God Eater 3 will be released on PlayStation 4 on 8^th February.

RIOT: Civil Unrest

Release: 8^th February

Platform: PlayStation 4, Switch

RIOT: Civil Unrest is the highly anticipated riot simulator that places players right in the heart of some of the world’s most dangerous clashes. Spread across four campaigns and over 30 individual scenarios, the game takes you around the world to clashes such as Indignados (Spain), Arab Spring (Egypt), Keratea (Greece) and NoTAV (Italy).

In an effort to portray a balanced view of each riot, you can play each campaign as either the police or the protesters offline against the computer AI or online with or against a friend.

Riot: Civil Unrest will be released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on 8^th February.

Far Cry New Dawn

Release: 15^th February

Platform: PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Seventeen years after the events of Far Cry 5 (2018), civilization re-emerges after ‘the collapse’ has devastated the world. When surviving population’s attempts at rebuilding a community in Hope County are threatened by a new band of rogues called the Highwaymen, they find themselves joining forces with the remnants of the Project at Eden’s Gate, now known as New Eden, who are just as dangerous.

The game serves as a narrative sequel to Far Cry 5 and is expected to tie up loose ends by revealing the fates of the Deputy and Joseph Seed from the previous game.

Far Cry New Dawn is expected to be released on 15^th February on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Metro Exodus

Release: 15^th February

Platform: PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Set two years after the events of 2013’s Metro: Last Light, the third instalment of the series puts players back in control of Artyom and continues the story from Last Light’s Redemption ending. The story takes place over the course of one year and sees Artyom venture above ground to flee Moscow and set off to the far east in search of a new life.

Metro Exodus will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 15^th February.

Crackdown 3

Release: 15^th February

Platform: Xbox One

Ten years after the events of Crackdown 2 (2010), a terrorist attack from an unknown source kills power around the entire world. The Agency is called back into action after the attack is traced to the mysterious organization Terra Nova. After the first strike against the organization fails, players are called into the field by Commander Jaxon, voiced by Terry Crews as a last resort to dismantle Terra Nova.

Crackdown 3 will be released on 15^th February exclusively on Xbox One.

Anthem

Release: 22^nd February

Platform: PlayStation 4, Xbox One

Despite not yet being released, BioWare’s Anthem is already shaping up to be one of the biggest games of 2019. The third-person shooter will be set in a futuristic world where players venture out into a hostile online world to complete missions. Featuring both single and multiplayer gameplay, players will be able to seamlessly switch between the two with the actions you take in the multiplayer world directly affecting your single player campaign.

Anthem will be available on 22^nd February on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Aragami: Shadow Edition

Release: 22^nd February

Platform: Switch

The 2016 release Aragami is coming to Nintendo Switch and bringing with it the Nightfall DLC pack.

Summoned by a young girl imprisoned in the city fortress of Kyuryu, players play as Aragami, a vengeful spirit with the power to control shadows. Embarking on a dark journey full of blood and secrets, Aragami must infiltrate the city of Kyuryu and use supernatural powers and fight Light with Shadow.

In Aragami: Nightfall, play as assassins Hyo and Shinobu to go after the mysterious ‘Alchemist’ in a mission to bring back a long-lost companion that will put your stealth skills to good use.

The base game and Nightfall DLC will support full online co-op that is compatible cross-platform with PC and Xbox.
