News and Rumours Round-Up (07/08/11)

Here’s this week’s best movie news and gossip…

• It’s been a week full of image leaks. The first is an official release and it gives us our first look at Henry Cavill as Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel.
• Images from the set of Christopher Nolan’s third Batman instalment have come thick and fast this week, too. We’ve seen Anne Hathaway on the Bat Bike, Tom Hardy looking mean and moody as well as seeing some fisticuffs take pace. Watch a fighting scene unfold here; (don’t watch if you don’t want and spoilers)

• James Franco was reportedly almost in Twilight: Breaking Dawn but, when producers couldn’t find a suitable part for him, the idea was dropped.
• Fresh from the success of recent comic book adaptations, Marvel are looking to give Doctor Strange the big screen treatment.
• Chuck Norris and John Travolta have been added to the already impressive list of names attached to the cast of The Expendables 2.
