These in-ear noise cancelling headphones from Decoka are an excellent mid-range product with a lot of functionality. The first thing I noticed with these is the robustness, having owned many pairs of in-ear headphones over the years these were the first that looked as if they could sustain long term use without any problems.
One of the main things I was interested in testing out was the noise cancelling abilities, as this is one of the main selling points advertised by Decoka. In comparison to over ear headphones these did leak noise in some situations like walking close to traffic or on a bus, but overall very little was noticeable with the volume turned up to a reasonable volum.
There was another feature I was keen to test out called Awareness Monitor Mode, a function that when switched on allows you to hear externally, for use in situations like public transport announcements or if someone is trying to get your attention for a brief moment. This function effectively just turns down the volume automatically but can be very useful once you get used to using it regularly.
Decoka makes a claim of twenty hours music playback which I was able to carry out comfortably over a weekend without the need recharge. The ear-phones also come with a built-in microphone allowing for integration with any smartphone with ease. On the whole I found the ear-phones comfortable, something I consider of high importance listening to music for long periods of time.
With 3 separate buttons for volume adjustment, track selection and play/pause functionality you can easily use these ear-phones without the need to take your device out of your pocket. This attention to details makes the experience of listening to music as streamlined as it could be.
The headphones fit neatly and come with three pairs of ear tips and three pairs of wing tips, allowing you to choose the ones that suit you best. Wearing any in-ear headphones for a long time can cause discomfort but this is only occurring with these after a few hours of consistent use. With a short break in between you can easily use them again for the same length of time without any trouble.
Overall the headphones are well-designed, smart, comfortable and capable of providing an excellent experience whilst sitting at a desk or out an about. The long-lasting battery life and highly functionally nature of these make them an appealing solution to anyone looking buy a long-lasting, well manufactured pair of in-ear headphones.
