The much anticipated trailer for Martin Scorsese’s “passion project” Silence arrived today and it’s certainly something to be excited about.
26 years in the making Scorsese has been back and forth on this one, involving various actors and stumbling through legal issues, but finally after all this time we have our first look. He said of his persistence with the film “It’s been an obsession, it has to be done…it’s a strong, wonderful true story”.
Set in the seventeenth century, we follow two young Portuguese Jesuit priests played by Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver who travel to Japan to locate their mentor (Liam Neeson) and propagate Christianity, but face violence and persecution.
Silence opens here in the UK January 2017. Check out the trailer and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
