Four new domain registrations have possibly pointed to a third instalment of the Mafia series.
The domains, which were registered on June 25th and hosted at the name server take2games.com, all name Mafia 3. They are: mafia3thegame.com, mafiaiiithegame.com, mafiathree.com, mafiathreethegame.com.
It’s possible that the new registrations could point to an upcoming announcement of a third instalment in the crime series, something which has been hinted at for over a year now, despite 2K Czech, the developers of Mafia 1 & 2, shutting doors and moving to 2K headquarters in California.
In March 2014, an alleged casting call document leaked online, which apparently revealed characters for the next instalment.
And most recently, in January, Rick Pasqualone, who voiced protagonist Vito Scaletta in Mafia 2, hinted on his Twitter account that a possible announcement regarding Mafia 3 would be coming very soon.
We’ve reached out to 2K Games for comment – so far no word back.
