A Tony Hawk’s shatboarding title is to be released on next-gen consoles later this year, it has been announced.
Developed by Robomodo and Disruptive Games, the game, titled: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will “retain the timeless, combo-driven energy and tightly designed levels of the Pro Skater games while expanding the experience with online play”.
It will feature brand-new set of levels with daring objectives, fine-tuned controls and high score tricks. Power-ups and projectiles will also be included.
Skaterboaders such as Tony Hawk himself will be available along with other pros such as Nyjah Huston, Riley hawk, Aaron “Jaws” Homoki, Ishod Wair, Chris Cole, Andrew Reynolds and many more.
Customizable characters will also be available.
“Skateboarding has always been about the freedom of ripping with your friends, and creating a game that captures that feeling has been a vision of mine since the Pro Skataer series began over 15 years ago,” said legendary pro skater and entrepreneur Tony Hawk.
“I’m beyond exited to see that dream finally come true with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, which takes the old-school attitude of the original games online in a big way.”
Multiple skaters will be able to play with each other in the title’s signature online skate sessions. You’ll be able to complete missions together, unlock new content, level up online or offline, and go head-to-head with other skaters.
Players can also create their very own skateparks and share them with other players.
A PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 edition will be available only from the UK retailer GAME with an official release date for all editions to be announced in the coming weeks.
