As we all know, Avengers: Age of Ultron is the newest film in the Marvel series and it has been eagerly anicipated by fans all over the world, so obviously there are bound to be some people who will do just about anything to get hold of some info on the movie before its release date. This, unfortunately, was an ongoing battle with the Avengers cast and crew. To combat this they had to go to the extreme measures of destroying the script every day on set, either by shredding it or burning it.
The security was so tight to avoid hacking that even the cast had a tough time getting their hands on the script. Paul Bettany, voice of Jarvis and playing new character The Vision in the latest movie, mentioned that he didn’t even get emailed a copy of the script and that it was posted with a security guard of its own. The only way he was able to get his hands on a copy of the sacred screenplay was to have it delivered straight to him personally. Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, said: “We weren’t allowed to go home with our little pages of whatever we shot that day. They took it from our trailers and shredded it. It’s pretty crazy.”
It may seem crazy for the new cast members but the Avengers team are used to the extreme measures taken with security on the set of Marvel movies. Chris Evans, who stars as Captain America, mentioned that the majority of Marvel films are kept top secret, stating: “Everything with Marvel is very lock and key and hush hush, you gotta sign a confidentiality agreement.” But what can we expect? With a movie this big everyone is going to be scrambling over each other just for a glimpse.
Also on the Avengers news front are rumours of Spider-Man joining the ranks. Marvel and Sony Pictures signed a deal in February to ensure this has a chance of happening. Evans mentioned that he thinks Spidey could make a good addition to the Avengers team, saying: “As long as he’s a good man, I think Captain America would accept him.”
Marvel fans, I ask you, do you want to see Spider-Man fighting alongside Captain America in the new Avengers line-up? And who do you think would be the best man to fill the role?
