F.E.A.R. Online will launch online in October, Aeria Games announced today.
The free-to-play title will be available online via Steam on October 17th, whilst an open beta will open via Aeria Games portal on October 8th.
It follows the F.E.A.R. task force as they investigate Armacham Technology Corporation’s unsettling experiments.
Several team combat modes will be available as the storyline continues in cooperative scenarios that detail the occurrences surrounding the F.E.A.R. team, in parallel to the events of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.
Up to four players can play together against both hostile Armacham personnel and hidden monsters.
Extensive redesign and gameplay adjustments have been made following a closed beta and will include new maps, new scenarios, and a redesigned crafting system, which allows for making one-of-a-kind weapons.
“We are excited to introduce F.E.A.R. Online to millions of PC gamers with the launch on the Steam platform,” said Dr. Pascal Zuta, Aeria Games CEO.
“Taking player feedback to heart, our team has redesigned elements of the game that are most important to players to deliver an experience that we hope will please the vast and dedicated fan base of the F.E.A.R. series.”
Players can sign up for the open beta on October 8th via the F.E.A.R website.
