Activision have unveiled Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer mode.
Built for next-gen consoles, “fundamentally changes” have been made to the action-shooter multiplayer and sees new player movements and capabilities, along with the “deepest customization and player engagement features in franchise history”.
With the all-new exoskeleton, players can boost jump, dodge, dash, slide, slam and more while using future technology, cutting-edge capabilities and a brand new weapon class with nearly 350 custom weapons.
A new reward system has been added which includes more than 1,000 in-game player rewards, and almost unlimited customization options.
“With Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare we introduced the first new lead developer to the franchise in a decade and our first three-year development cycle, with one mission: bring breakthrough innovation to the franchise, while also honouring its roots,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO, Activision Publishing.
“Advanced Warfare introduces significant new mechanics to multiplayer that truly change the game, but more importantly just speaking as a gamer it’s a hell of a lot of fun.”
A new level of tactical combat has been added as well as featuring new gameplay abilities, movements, perks and mechanics that expand the verticality of sightlines and maneuverability.
The highly acclaimed Pick 10 create-a-class will also return and feature more customizable options before with Pick 13.
Players can now choose their favorite score streaks, which are fully customizable, and include them in their preferred class, adding more personalization. Co-operative score streaks have also been introduced to allow friends to work together on a single score streak.
The Virtual Firing Range, a brand new feature, will allow players to instantly test their favorite weapon with the click of a button before the next match starts.
The Creator-an-Operator mode will allow players to customize their character however they wish whilst the new Virtual Lobby allows players to display their challenge rewards and rare items whilst waiting for the match to begin.
Modes included are: Capture the Flag, Hardpoint, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, and the new Uplink and Momentum modes, a classic take on the War mode.
“When we set out out to envision the 2054 world of Call of Duty, we spent a lot of time forcused on evolving the multiplayer – offering all ne experiences to the fans,” said Glen Schofield, co-founder and Game Director at Sledgehammer Games.
Micheal Condrey, co-founder and head of Development at Sledgehammer, added: “We can’t wait for players to discover all of the new movement, mechanics, equipment, and modes built into Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, as well as the depth of customization layered in for the most personalized Call of Duty multiplayer experience to date.”
Activision also announced today a special Day Zero edition of the upcoming title, which will offer fans 24-hour early access to the game beginning on November 3rd.
The Day Zero edition also includes two new custom weapons as well as the previously announced Advanced Arsenal incentive.
Revealed back in May, Advanced Warfare will be released on November 4th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Set in the year 2054, the player must restore order in a state of advanced warfare against a private military corporation, head by antagonist Jonathan Irons.
Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey will portray Irons.
A 9-minute gameplay trailer was released back in June and it was also revealed that Xbox users would be the first to get their hands on any DLC content.
