Grand Theft Auto V is officially coming to next-gen consoles and PC.
A trailer released during Sony’s E3 conference last night, shown above, revealed the record breaking open-world action-adventure title would be launching on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC this fall.
It will feature a new level of detail thanks to the power of next-gen, including: increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions.
All new content released since the game’s launch on September 17th will be included automatically and players will be able to transfer their GTA Online characters to their choice of PS4, Xbox One and PC.
All the features will be available for both GTA V and it’s online companion, GTA Online.
A video editor will be available for the PC version, something that proved incredibly popular with the game’s predecessor, Grand Theft Auto IV.
“Grand Theft Auto V looks and feels stunning enhanced by the power of these new platforms,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games and Executive Producer for GTA.
“We can’t wait for players to experience a new level of detail tot his massive world.”
GTA V launched in September 17th and quickly became the biggest entertainment launch in history, earning $800 million during its first 24 hours on sale.
2 days later it officially broke $1 billion in sales, beating major films such as The Avenger’s Assemble and Avatar.
Critically acclaimed worldwide, the BAFTA award winning title also out-sold GTA IV, beat The Last of Us as the biggest digital release on PlayStation, broke 7 Guinness World Records and won numerous Game of the Year awards.
It has currently sold over 33 million copies.
A PC edition has long been rumoured for release since the game was first announced back in 2011. Despite strong hints appearing over the years, nothing ever came to fruition.
Patientless PC gamers set up a petition back when the game was first confirmed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, demanding that Rockstar release a PC version.
More than 728,000 people have signed the petition.
Rockstar have previously released PC editions of their games several months after the game’s original release, including GTA IV, Max Payne 3, and LA Noire.
