The single-player add on content for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Freedom Cry, will be available as a standalone title on February 19th, Ubisoft announced today.
Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry will be available for download exclusively on the PlayStation 3 & 4 on February 19th and on PC on February 25th.
A copy of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is not needed to play the standalone title.
The title follows Adewale, a man born into slavery and now a trained assassins. He is shipwrecked in 18th century Haiti and must assist the locals in exchange for a new crew and ship. Having to confront the country’s brutal slavery, Adewale is forced to face his vicious past and assassinate enemies and free the slaves and escape the island.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launched in October last year and was critically acclaimed worldwide.
The game went on to be nominated for several Game of the Year awards and won other awards including Best Action-Adventure Game, PS4 Game of the Year, Best Action Game and Xbox One Game of the Year.
