An annual speed running convention has raised more than $1 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The convention, known as Awesome Games Done Quick, aka AGDQ, was held over a 7 day period and broadcasted live via online streaming channel, Twitch TV.
Featuring over 115 games, gamers attempted to beat their choice of video game as quickly as possible whilst viewers were able to donate money for charity, entering donors into prize draws.
AGDQ raised $1,007,850 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organisation that saves live through cancer research, education and community outreach, with 17,934 donors and 27,211 donations.
We reached out to AGDQ for comment – so far, no word back.
