[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake has a familiar face on board. Step forward Megan Fox, all is forgiven.
Megan Fox being signed up for the new retooling of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wouldn’t generally be seen as a surprise move. She’s feisty, beautiful, and a force to be reckoned with; all the attributes that April O’Neil personifies. The real shock comes when you remember that it is a Michael Bay picture. The very same Michael Bay whom Fox has likened to Adolf Hitler, saying “Michael wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So, he’s a nightmare to work for.” Bay won’t be taking the helm on Ninja Turtles, but will instead be producing the picture. However, he seems to be happy that Fox is back in the fold, writing on his blog “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”
This will be their first film together since Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the infamous Hitler comments. Back then, she had been cast as the girlfriend of the lead played by Shia LaBeouf, before being replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the third instalment Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon. Unfortunately for the former Victoria’s Secret model, people couldn’t stop comparing her performance to that of Fox’s. And the comparisons were not favourable, with the majority being in support of Fox, with one critic saying that “her acting makes Megan Fox look like Meryl Streep in comparison.” Damning comments indeed.
Fox has been no slouch herself with roles in Jonah Hex, Friends with Kids and more recently This is 40 alongside Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd. Now it seems that time really is a healer, as she is the first cast member to sign on for Ninja Turtle,s which is due for release in 2014. More news as we get it.
