Leatherface is back – check out the Texas Chainsaw 3D trailer for a glimpse of what’s in store in the next installment…
Picking up from where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off, this sequel, in a long line of sequels and re-imaginings (the film will be the seventh in the franchise), it’s clear to see what the new aspect of Texas Chainsaw 3D will be – heck, it’s even in the title.
Not only will it attempt to draw audiences in with the promise of its added dimension of creepy murderous goings on, it will also feature scantily clad girls, as made evident in the trailer where we see a girl changing less than 10 seconds in.
With so many teen horrors having been made since the original release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in 1974, much of the tropes that appear in the trailer seem like a rehash of countless other movies; the spooky old house, the unwitting twenty-somethings, the sudden terror… what the trailer does make good use of though is the frightening sound of the chainsaw – there’s no getting used to the spine-tingling terror of a mask-wearing mad man wielding one of those.
The film is set for release 9th January 2013. Watch the trailer and check out the poster below!
