Bethesda, the studio that bought us the iconic Fallout 3, blew the crowd away with at their first ever appearance at the E3 press conference.

Pete Hines, Bethesda’s Head of Marketing, teased the crowd when he uttered the words: “We’re here to give you a look at what’s coming from Bethesda over the next year,” and while we’ve already seen the trailer for Fallout 4, Bethesda gave us a lot more to get us excited for the upcoming game, as well as unleashing a whole load of announcements about their other developments. Here are the top highlights:

The Elder Scrolls Legends

We all know of Bethesda’s legendary Elder Scrolls game series, right? It features a beautiful fantasy world full of Dragons, elves, orcs and the like. We’ve played Morrowind and fell deeply in love, been slightly broken-hearted over the underwhelming Oblivion and had our hearts mended with the eye-popping Skyrim, not to forget The Elder Scrolls Online, adding a whole new gaming experience into the mix. Well, now, Bethesda have announced a new Elder Scrolls game, unlike any of the others. The Elder Scrolls Legends will be a free-to-play strategy card game based on the video game. It’s reminiscent of Hearthstone, and looks like it could give its rival game a run for its money. It will be available on PC and iPad this year.

Battlecry

Battlecry made an appearance during Bethesda’s press conference. Battlecry Studios announced that their global beta for Battlecry is now love for signups on their official website. This was announced when the new trailer was featured which revealed the Han Republic featuring some previously announced classes including a Monk character. The new combat gameplay showed fans some new Asain-themed arenas, and a refresher of the five classes; Brawler, Enforcer, Infiltrator, Ranger and Gadgeteer.

Doom

Bethesda launched an epic event last night, showcasing three very exciting games, one of which was Doom. Doom was originally released in 1993 and caused a huge controversy due to its graphic violence, but it’s definitely a firm fan favourite and people have been asking for a remake or reboot of the legendary classic. Well it looks like we are getting what we volleyed for! Bethesda broadcasted some in-game footage of the comeback game, and spared none of the gore with chainsaws at the ready to slice victims in half. The game has impressive new graphics, being the first game on the idTech 6 engine, and has the vintage feel by keeping the standard weapons and a multiplayer component. Not only this, Doom also has new modding tools to keep to the Bethesda tradition in gaming, including a system called SnapMap which allows players to create and share their own arenas. It is due for release in spring of 2016 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 was another one of the games showcased by Bethesda; Dishonored 2 is a relatively new game for Bethesda, with games like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom having quite a long line of predecessors, but that doesn’t mean it’s nothing to be excited about. There was doubt that the newer title would get a sequel, but now we are sure of it. Bethesda gave us some teasers for the new Dishonored game. Players will be able to choose between two playable characters; the original Dishonored main-man Corvo Attano and his ward Emily Kaldwin.

Fallout 4

The third game showcased by Bethesda was none other than the hugely anticipated game Fallout 4. Bethesda treated fans to an in-depth look of the game, features and told us a bit about the story. Fallout 4 begins before Nuclear War has begun, the day of to be precise, and follows the protagonist on their way to the Vault to protect themselves from the oncoming war. Events occur and you eventually emerge from the vault years later, alone, to explore the wasteland. Fallout 4 features an all new customising menu, allowing you to create a completely unique looking character, and yes, you can play as either male or female. As an upgrade from Fallout 3, your character will have a voice and will narrate as you interact with the world around you. There will be an all-new Pip-Boy experience which you can play around with and of course, fully improved graphics. There is also footage of a Dog companion, as featured in the trailer. There are over 50 weapons with around 700 mods, allowing you to customise your weapons to suit you – something that is entirely new to Fallout.

Fallout 4 is due for release on 10th November 2015 and is already available for pre-order. GAME have an exclusive pre-order bundle named the Pip-Boy Edition for £99.99. It includes a wearable Pip-Boy replica, which comes with a Robo Industries stand, custom-printed capsule and working knobs and lights. Also included is a Vault-Tech Poster, a collectable metal case and a Pip-Boy Pocket Guide. The first 10,000 will get an exclusive Vault 111 t-shirt, so head over and grab your copy quick! GAME is also inviting fans to gain access to join the Fallout 4 Club, which gives you exclusive access to events, Fallout 4 news, and an exclusive Vault Boy Bobblehead.

Fallout Shelter

On top of the amazing information Bethesda gave us on Fallout 4, they weren’t done there. They announced the launch of a Fallout mobile game named Fallout Shelter. Fallout Shelter is a cute game that gives players the ability to run their own vault as the Overseer. You will be responsible for keeping your inhabitants happy and successfully reproducing to keep the population alive. The game characters have the same look as the ever-famous bobbleheads in the Fallout series and are adorable. It is a free-to-play game and is available on IOS7 or later. Definitely a must-have for Fallout fans.
