Cartoon Network and Little Orbit announced Tuesday that Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations is currently in development.
Predicted for a launch this November, the game will be available for PC, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It will also be available for PS4 and Xbox One.
Based on the popular kids television show, Adventure Time promises to be full to the brim of exciting puzzles, action and a variety of places to explore, all in an immense fully 3D game not seen before in this series.
The idea, Little Orbit explained in a press release, is to “immerse the audience in the game so much so that you feel as if you have jumped into an Adventure Time episode yourself, personal to you”.
They also stated that it should make the audience feel as if “(you) have stepped into (your) own personal episode of Adventure Time.”
Set during the sixth season of the television show, the story of the game follows the player as they travel to the “Land of Ooo” where they meet the inhabitants and begin to interrogate them for their investigation of a printing machine called the “tickertype” following in the footsteps of Finn’s foster parents Joshua and Margaret, who were professional investigators.
“We have created an intriguing classic adventure game set in a richly-detailed 3D Land of Ooo where players can check out Land of Ooo locales, talk to characters, sharpen their creative puzzle-solving skills, defeat bad guys, and just have fun,” said Matt Scott, a Little Orbit Chief Executive.
This game will be the first where players will be able to explore the Land of Ooo, which includes the Fire and Candy Kingdoms, Castle Lemongrab and Wizard City in complete 3D.
