Over 1,000 games were funded on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter this year to raise a total of over $89 million, figures released by the website have revealed.

Kickstarter recently released figures for 2014 and it showed exactly 1,980 game projects were successfully funded for a total of $89.1 million, with a total of 3.3 million people donating to projects across the world.

One game project in particular was named as one of the year’s most backed projects.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, a game by Warhorse Studios, raised over $1 million from their original goal of $300,000 with over 35,000 backers.

The game, a single-player open-world RPG set in medieval Europe in 1403, follows a new king’s brother who kidnaps the king and invades the country with an army of his own and takes over the land. A son of a murdered family will seek to put an end to the brother’s reign of terror.

It’s to be released for PC and Mac this year and is scheduled for a Xbox One and PS4 release at some point.
