The PlayStation 4 has sold more than 10 million units worldwide, Sony has announced.
Revealed by Jim Ryan during Gamescom (via Digital Spy), the PS4 has over 10 million units just 9 months ago since its launch to consumers.
“On behalf of our entire team, I want to thank you for your support and passion,” said Shawn Layden, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, on the PlayStation Blog.
“You’re the reason that PS4 is the #1 next generation console in the world and we’re grateful for your continued enthusiasm and for always pushing us to new heights.”
Layden also said that enhancements to the PS4 will be coming in the future, including the ability to upload game footage directly to YouTube, and “Share Play”, a new feature that allows players to invite others to their game even if that person doesn’t own a copy of the game.
More than 30 million PS4 games have also been sold.
