A closed multiplayer beta of Battlefield: Hardline is open to the public right now.
During EA’s E3 conference on Monday, it was revealed lucky members of the public can earn the chance to play the multiplayer beta of Visceral Games’ spin-off of the Battlefield series.
As of yesterday, registrations are currently open via Battlefield’s website. It will feature new modes, weapons, vehicles and gadgets.
“This is an exciting opportunity to take one of gaming’s most exciting franchises in a new director,” said Steve Papoutsis, Vice President and General Manager of Visceral Games.
“The cops and criminal fantasy is a great new backdrop for Battlefield and allows us to introduce an impactful story, while still maintaining that intense multiplayer action that fans expect.”
Announced in late May, Hardline will launch on October 21st in America and October 24th in the UK for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
“We’re always looking for new, exciting directions to take the Battlefield franchise, but it has to be a great experience that’s driven by passion and stays true to the heritage of Battlefield,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Vice President and Group General Manager of DICE and Visceral Games.
“Visceral has a great track record of creating emotionally charged stories with unforgettable atmosphere and we’re excited to see them bring this approach to single player and to see how they add to Battlefield’s best in class multiplayer action.
“Hardline is fun, fresh and yet still very much a Battlefield game.”
Set in Los Angeles and Miami, players will be place in the middle of the war on crime. Players can choose between being a cop or criminal.
The game will introduce a list of new arsenal including: stun guns, zip lines, grappling hooks, new guns and gadgets.
