The Evil Within has been delayed until October, it was revealed yesterday.

Global Community Lead for Bethesda Softworks, Matt Grandstaff, yesterday revealed on the PlayStation Blog that the survival-horror title had been pushed back from its August 26th date until October 24th.

The title marks the return of Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series, to the horror genre, as he and his team, Tango Gameworks, will be developing the game.

After witnessing the deaths of several police officers, Detective Sebastian is attacked by an unknown entity and loses consciousness, eventually waking up in a land where monsters are wandering about. Sebastian has to fight his way through a world of death to understand what’s going on and what lies in the shadows of that mysterious force.

For those who pre-order the game, you’ll receive The Fighting Chance Pack. It includes a medical kit, green gel to upgrade Sebastian’s attributes, double barrel shotgun and three shells, an incendiary agony bolt and a poison agony bolt.

It will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
