Bohemia Interactive have opened a €500,000 content creation contest for Arma 3.

The publisher behind the acclaimed indie-PC title DayZ today announced that they are now accepting applications for a €500,000 content creation contest, titled “Make Arma Not War”.

Originally announced back in December, Bohemia are welcoming Arma 3 content creators to compete in four categories including Total Modification, Single player Game Mode, Multiplayer Game mode and Addon.

The winner of the Total Modification category will win €200,000 whilst the rest of the prize money will be split between 1st place, 2nd place and third place.

Winners will also receive a Health Care in Danger Special Award, as part of a collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

“This is the first real milestone for contestants, which also provides them with a platform to showcase their work”, said Ivan Buchta, Creative Director at Bohemia Interactive.

“And based on the first promising teasers we’ve seen, I’d say Arma 3 players will have a lot to look forward to.”

Other players will be able to vote in the Single player category which will determine 20 finalists whilst the winners of each category will be chose by a jury of Bohemia representatives and other industry professionals.

Players who support their favourite entry, similar to a thumbs-up function, will receive a Make Arma Not War forums badge as well as a 30% discount voucher for Arma 3.

Applicants need to apply via Make Arma’s website by the October 26th deadline. Winners will be announced on January 15th next year.
