Grand Theft Auto V has picked up 3 more awards today at the European Games Awards.
Rockstar Games’ open-world action-adventure game was voted as Best European Game, Best European Sound and Best European Game at today’s ceremony in Berlin during the EGA International Games Week.
The latest instalment in the GTA franchise launched on September 17th last year and quickly became the biggest launch in entertainment history, earning $800 million during its first 24 hours and then breaking $1 billion by its third day on sale.
Critically acclaimed worldwide, the game also outsold its predecessor, GTA IV, beat The Last of Us as the biggest digital release on PlayStation and broke seven Guinness World Records.
Having shipped over 32.5 million copies, the game has won numerous Game of the Year awards.
In other categories, Beyond: Two Souls won for Best European Adventure, Battlefield 4 won for Best Art Direction and Best Multiplayer, Total War: Rome 2 won for Best Strategy Game, Crysis 3 won Best Game Design, Empire: Four Kingdoms won Best Mobile Game, World of Tanks won for Best Console Game, Goodgame Empire won Best Browser Game and Reus won for Best Indie Game
Ubisoft was also awarded as Best European Publisher whilst Goodgame Studios won Best European Studio and Victor Kislyi was presented with the Personality Award.
