The director of Uncharted 3 has left Naughty Dog, it has been confirmed.
Justin Richmond, director of Uncharted 3 and who oversaw Uncharted 2: Among Thieves‘ multiplayer, has confirmed to IGN that he has decided to leave the studio and will join Riot Games, developers of the massively popular League of Legends game.
He told IGN: “I have in fact made the decision to leave Naughty Dog. I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward.
“On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of.”
Sony confirmed the departure and said that the development of Uncharted 4 will not be affected.
The news comes just three weeks after the writer for the Uncharted series, Amy Henning, had left the studio.
When news of her departure broke, sources said that Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, writer and director of The Last of Us, had “forced” her out of the company.
Naughty Dog later denied the reports and said that there was “nothing left to be said on this subject”.
