[dropcap]T[/dropcap]om Clancy’s The Division won’t be releasing in 2014, a source within Ubisoft has told Game Reactor.

Whilst no official release date was confirmed, Ubisoft estimated the tactical-action-shooter game was scheduled to come out sometime during 2014 for the Xbox One and PS4, developed by Ubisoft Massive.

However, according to reports by Game Reactor, a source told the magazine that the 2014 release window was “laughable” and that “actual game development has barely started”.

The source said: “The game engine works well, it’s not done but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however. The fact that Ubisoft has gone public with a 2014 release date feels laughable to be perfectly honest, we will never be able to release The Division this year. It’s a large project, and we have very far to go.”

Late last year, Ubisoft announced that the highly anticipated Watch Dogs, and The Crew, had been delayed until 2014.

We’ve reached out to Ubisoft Massive for comment – so far, no word back.
