Ghanchakkar releases on Friday – Rajkumar Gupta’s comedy film Ghanchakkar releases in cinemas today! Starring Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi in the leading roles, the film is based on a man suffering from amnesia and who cannot remember if he was part of a major bank robbery. Many have been waiting impatiently for Balan’s return to the big screen, given that she was part of the award-winning hit Kahaani (2012) and has not been seen in a film for 15 months. Ghanchakkar has received a UK release so check with your local cinema to see if this much anticipated Bollywood film is screening in your area!

Ranveer Singh proud to star in Lootera – Rising superstar Ranveer Singh has spoken of how proud he is to have been a part of period drama Lootera, where he will be seen paired opposite Sonakshi Sinha. “I had no clue about the 1950s, so to live a character who is living in that era was very interesting,” said Singh to an Indian newspaper. “I have seen the film and I am very happy. I am very excited and can’t wait for people to see it.” The film is slated for theatrical release on 5 July 2013.

Hrithik Roshan talks Krrish 3 – Superstar Hrithik Roshan launched the digital poster of his upcoming release Krrish 3 at the Facebook headquarters in India on Thursday. Responding to a question regarding the way in which superhero films have been handled in Bollywood, Hrithik responded with the following comment: “Krrish 3 will master the superhero genre in Bollywood.” It was confirmed on the same day that Krrish 3 will be released this Diwali on 4 November 2013.

Sonam Kapoor loves to inspire – Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor spoke of how she loves the fact that she is setting a fashion trend amongst young women. “I am a girl and I have fun dressing up,” said Sonam to the Business of Cinema. Whether I am dressed casually or for a red carpet event, I look at my comfort. But I enjoy dressing up and if young girls see that and get inspired, nothing better than that!” The 28 year old’s latest film Raanjhanaa, where she stars alongside Tamil superstar Dhanush, released last week to a strong critical and commercial response.

Salman Khan faces homicide charges – India’s 100 Crore hero Salman Khan will be tried in court for culpable homicide not accounting to murder. The case is with regards to a hit-and-run incident that transpired back in 2002, which killed one street sleeper and injured four other people. The 47 year old actor was earlier charged with causing death by negligence, which carries a lesser sentence. However, Salman will now be re-tried in court on 19 July and if convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Satyagraha trailer launched in London – Bollywood megastars Kareena Kapoor and Ajay Devgn attended a press conference on Wednesday in London to launch the trailer of their upcoming release Satyagraha. The film, which also stars legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role, will release in cinemas on August 23. The trailer was simultaneously launched in London and Mumbai and received a positive response from the media.
