[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Star Wars rumour mill has been working overtime ever since it was announced last year that we will indeed be getting some sequels to the classic sci-fi franchise. So far, the only thing that has been 100% officially confirmed is that JJ Abrams will be directing what has been christened Star Wars VII.

Although many actors have expressed interest in the film, including erstwhile stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, we have been given absolutely no clue as to whether any of them will in fact reprise their most famous roles – until now, that is.

Latino Review journalist Umberto ‘El Mayimbe’ Gonzalez appeared on Fox News Latino this February 15th, claiming that he has received confirmation that Harrison Ford, who played roguishly charming space-bum Han Solo in the original trilogy, will definitely be returning to (a presumably much older version of) his role for the seventh film.

“I found out yesterday. I did my due diligence, like I do with everything. Triple checked. Legitimate sources…His deal is done,” said Gonzalez.

Annoyingly, we have still had no official confirmation of Ford’s casting beyond the fact that, as noted by Total Film, ‘Latino Review has a strong record when it comes to scoops.’ Total Film also suggest that Abrams may have promised Ford ‘the ultimate death scene’ in order to lure him back into the fold (the actor famously tried to distance himself from the franchise, even requesting that Solo be killed off).

Harrison Ford, JJ Abrams and new franchise owner Disney have been remaining infuriatingly tight-lipped about the whole thing, but if this new rumour is true, then that could all be about to change. Watch this space; we might have some more 100% news for you very soon!
