We know we’ve had a busy week, but how has the film world fared?

  • The rumblings of the forthcoming final Potter instalment have already been felt – the movie premiered on Thursday and saw a reported 32,000 fans camp out for days to get a glimpse of the franchise’s stars. The biggest premiere to ever grace the UK, the red carpet trailed from Trafalgar Square to Leicester Square where the film was screened. • There’s been two big announcements about computer game based adaptations – whilst fans rejoice at the news of a Mass Effect adap, iPhone and iPad users were left a little bemused at the prospect of an Angry Birds movie.
  • Shia LaBeouf apparently turned down lead parts in The Social Network and 127 Hours…
  • Naomie Harris may be Miss Moneypenny to Daniel Craig’s Bond.
  • Sigourney Weaver is filming a vampire comedy called Vamp… we’re already excited.
  • It was announced that Johnny Depp has entered talks regarding a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean instalment. As much as we enjoy watching Jack Sparrow’s escapades we’re not sure what we think…
  • Images of The Hobbit’s key dwarves were released as well as the second video blog for the movie. Watch it below! (Beware: Jealousy of the actor’s circumstance and tales of holidaying may result)
