- After weeks of speculation, J.K. Rowling finally announced what exactly Pottermore was. Set to provide fans with an online world where they can interact with the Harry Potter universe, Pottermore will also be the first site to make the Harry Potter eBooks available. Opening in October, the Pottermore site is offering a million fans the opportunity to test the site from the end of July onward. For our coverage of this story click here.
- We were inundated with casting news this week – Bob Hoskins is set to appear in Snow White and the Huntsman, Evangeline Lilly will play a woodland elf and Barry Humphries will be Peter Jackson’s Goblin King in The Hobbit, Emma Stone is set to fight zombies once again in the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies adaptation whilst Megan Fox and John C. Reilly will appear in Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator. The film is already set to star Sir Ben Kingsley.
- The first pictures from The Hobbit have appeared. The pictures show Martin Freeman as the young Bilbo Baggins and Sir Ian McKellan as Gandalf.
- Penn Badgely beat the likes of Robert Pattinson and James Franco to star in the first ever Jeff Buckley biopic. The film, Greetings From Tim Buckley, will chart the singer’s famous 1991 performance. Filming will begin in August.
